Moto Droid! It’s Alive!

This picture has leaked from the Boy Genius' twitter account (http://twitpic.com/li49c) finally giving the world a clear view of the Moto Droid (previously known by its codename of Motorola Sholes). This bad boy is packing the same processor as the iPhone 3GS, with a huge 3.7" touch screen and slide out QWERTY keyboard. The best part is, it's supposed to be released on Verizon! I have had the T-Mobile G1 for around a year and in my area the coverage isn't exactly the best. The worst dead zone ever is at my house... I have put up with it because the phone is awesome and I'm a huge Android OS fan, but now that Verizon will be sporting an Android phone, I'm ready to pay the cancellation fee and jump ship (still cost me less than paying full price for the G1!).

Back to the topic, here are some rumored specs for the Moto Droid:

* Android 2.0 (Eclair)
* ARM Cortex A8 (OMAP3430) CPU - 600MHz
* PowerVR SGX 530 GPU - 530MHz?
* 3.7" touch screen - 854x480 resolution
* 1400mAh Lithium-Ion Battery
* 512MB Storage
* 256MB RAM
* microSD / microSDHC support up to 16 GB (8GB microSD reportedly included)
* 5 megapixel camera with autofocus
* GPS Receiver
* USB, Bluetooth 2.0, and WiFi Connectivity

* Rumored release date: 10/30/2009

This thing is significantly faster than my first few personal computers, I can't wait to get my hands on one! How do you do it Boy Genius?!?

Update:
Verizon is "officially" confirming the release of an Android phone in the next few weeks, via Twitter. Could it be the Droid?
